I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in October 2007. At the time i didn't understand what it was all i knew about it was i have to take needles everyday. After the doctor diagnosed me with it i went straight to the hospital and had to stay there for 3 days to learn all about diabetes, i thought there wasn't that much to learn but there's so much more to it than just taking a needle each day. I started on 2 injections a day then went to to 5 now i'm on a insulin pump (like Nick). I still do the things i did before i had diabetes which are Cheerleading and Dancing and yes we are aloud to eat sugar stuff hehe :) I'd like to thank nick for letting me and others with diabetes know that we can achive our dreams.
